Trail that gently ascends 700 meters to the base of the west ice of the Michinmahuida volcano. It is the longest path within the Pumalín Park. Its level of demand is not very high, since the path has a low slope most of the time. A good part of the route is in the middle of the forest and in the final part you walk through stone and volcanic slag, finally reaching the west glacier of the Michinmahuida Volcano. From the highest point there is an excellent opportunity to observe nearby mountains and the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chaitén.
Starting point: From the Carretera Austral, Carol Urzúa bridge, 28.5 kilometers south of Caleta Gonzalo.
